Tinuvin additives are designed to protect against UV rays and extend the life of coatings.
These chemicals include two different types of light stabilizers: ultraviolet light absorbers (UVA) and Hindered-Amine-based light stabilizers, so-called HALS. Based on the nature of the light absorbing unit, different types of UVA are commercially available.
By trapping free radicals, HALS grade preserves surface properties such as gloss and prevents cracking and whitening of paint. With the combination of UVA and HALS, it has a synergistic effect and makes its formulation simple.
Tinuvin has different grades such as 928, 384, 144, 5151, 770. This chemical is produced from hydroxy phenyl benzothiazole compounds. The Tinuvin grades mainly are derivatives of 2-(2′-hydroxy-5′-methylphenyl)benzotriazole.

Tinuvin is packed in 200 kg barrels or 25 kg bags.
